Earlier this week saw Monk taking a major step forward on its proposed 24 continuation 24: Legacy, casting The Taking walks Dead and Straight Out of Compton star Corey Hawkins in a fresh leading role. Currently, meet the series’ female equal, as Lord of the Rings alum Miranda Otto gets from Homeland to 24 for a very familiar position.

Per Entertainment Weekly, 24: Legacy has amusingly fulfilled its casting notice for a “Miranda Otto-type” together with Otto herself, coming off of a similar counter-terrorism role inside Homeland Season 5. On this occasion, Otto will play Rebecca Ingram, the “blazing smart former go of CTU. Now hitched to Senator John Donovan (not even cast), Rebecca is experiencing second thoughts about having left the counterterrorism bureau.”

The other day discovered Hawkins cast as Eric Carter, former Army Ranger and also military hero going back to the U.S. with “trouble in which follows him returning — compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and also stopping what most likely could be one of the largest-scale fear attacks on United states soil.” The character will be described as strong and smart, coming from a hard background, as well of which “Now back home inside Virginia with his wife Nicole, he’s pulled back in action as the past comes searching for him.”

None of the unique 24 stars are expected to take part just yet, though Kiefer Sutherland himself is in talks to develop. 24: Legacy will also maintain many of the series distinctive things, though like Live Yet another Day, is expected to run intended for 12 episodes, as opposed to 24, should this move to series.

Certainly an interesting transition for Otto, but is 24: Legacy looking any more like a worthy winner to Jack Bauer?
